Mixed by Porcupine Tree’s Steven Wilson, We’re here because we’re here represents the continuing maturation of Anathema as a progressive rock band. From the Basement an incredible show if its available in [...] I attended the recent Opeth show in NYC at Terminal 5. This was one of the stops in this limited tour to commemorate their twentieth anniversary – six exclusive shows across the globe. Tour stops included Stockholm; Essen, Germany; Paris; London; New York; and Los Angeles.
Opeth performed two sets and played for just short of [...] Steven Wilson and kscope have introduced me to a lot of music over the years. So, why not a podcast? This one is worth a listen as it’s accomplished via an introductory (and closing) interview with Steven. Lots of interesting commentary including status of the Insurgentes movie. Also, a couple of nice songs from North [...] Ambient, progressive, post rock. One can put a lot of labels on this Italian band. I simply like it. At times I hear Eno, Floyd, 801, and others. But progress the time chart to 2010 and you have their latest album A Sense of Loss. And despite the mellow nature of this music I suggest [...] Porcupine Tree will return to North America in April for the second leg of the Incident tour, concentrating on many cities that were not included on the first leg. Of course, I will make the 3 hour trek to Charlotte. It’s odd there is nothing on the west coast (sorry John) but perhaps that’s where [...] Over the years Steven has released what is known as “Cover Version”. To date five have been released (known as CVI, CVII, CVIII, CVIV, CVV). Each Cover Version includes a cover of another artist’s song plus an original Steven Wilson song.
