		<description>Thanks for this post.  I saw Gil Scott-Heron at Toad&#039;s Place in New Haven CT.  It would have been in the late 80s (seems like yesterday).  He wore a Yale t-shirt that was too small for his tall frame.  And he put on an incredible performance.  It was an odd time in the country, Reagan was president, and life seemed a lot simpler.  Of course, Gil reminded us of how &quot;home is where the hatred is&quot; and that our investment in the cold war was a decision not to take on hunger, poverty, etc.  Would love to see him live again!  (as I type this I just took a look and see I missed his tour stop in NC)</description>
